Sweet Treat

Today D and I were into making desserts. He made a 4 layer delight (chocolate, pecans, cream cheese, whip cream, homemade crust--maybe he will share with you at a later time) and I made a dessert with strawberries and a cheesecake mixture. It was really easy to make (I made it sitting at the counter) and quite tasty It would be a nice dessert to make for home or for a potluck...so I thought I would share! Enjoy!!

Ingredients

1-2 Packages of Strawberries (depending on your stuffing)

1 8oz package of Cream Cheese

1 1/4 tsp of Vanilla Extract (add more depending on your taste)

¾ cup Powdered Sugar

6-8 Graham Crackers, lightly crushed

(recipe is compliments of Indigo's Sugar Spectrum)

Making Adjustments (for a good cause)

D and I always grocery shop together (thank God for motorized carts---

yes that is a head scarf---my hair has not been a priority =))

We haven't posted in awhile...things have been quite interesting to say the least...but we are blessed. Well it is probably no secret to many that we are expecting. =) (Especially if you see me) We have been told we are having a little girl (please be true because we are thinking all things girl and have bought a few clothes), but Demetrius and I will be thankful for whatever the Lord blesses us with. It has been 2 years since we started our journey of wanting to start a family. It has definitely been an emotional roller coaster, but Demetrius and I can both say that God has been with us every step of the way!

With this pregnancy I have been on bed rest for 2 weeks and I am currently limited to the amount of standing that I can do (currently if I cannot do whatever in 5min then it will not be done) You find out that your daily life consist of a lot of standing...work, cooking, dusting, yard work, grocery shopping...you name it requires standing. You honestly do not realize those things until you cannot do them =)

We have definitely made some adjustments to this new (but temporary) lifestyle. My job is going to allow me to be on a sit down rotation (I am so thankful for them!), I got a temporary handicap decal so that I can park close and not walk so far (walking requires standing right?), we were thankful to get a wheel chair so that I can still go shopping (D will just have to push me around), and D has had to become the main cook and house cleaner. ( on top of working 8 hrs a day). We share those duties in our household so his work load has doubled =(

I will say that I think we are adjusting well.... I do feel bad for my hubby b/c if anyone knows me they know that I am always doing something I cannot be still (I get that from my mom), so for me to not be able to help him is hard. We both know that we are doing this for a reason...a great reason...our sweet baby girl Nyla. =)
