7 Weeks!

Time is flying by! Our baby girl was 7 weeks old on yesterday... I cannot believe it. She is growing and her personality is evolving...and I love it! She smiles and squeals (esp when I am reading to her) and it is such a joy to see her reaction when she sees me or D =)
D and I seem to be transitioning well into parenthood...we are still in the awe stage that we are parents and that we have a little one (wonder will that feeling go away?) It is just a wonderful feeling to wake up to a sweet, little innocent face. I will admit I am still a ball of nerves at times...wondering is she crying because her tummy hurts, is she too hot or too cold, is she breathing at night? D is always telling Nyla to tell mommy to relax...honestly hearing from other mom's I don't think you really ever do that...even when they become adults.
My time being with her all day will be coming to a close and I am trying my hardest not to think about it...gosh how did my mom go back to work?? I know it can be done...there are millions of moms out there who did it and are doing it...so I know I can! (I believe that is what keeps me motivated)...I know and trust that God is going to sustain me (I may cry though =( )

Here are some pics of our time this week! She gave me a little smile

Just sharing

What was life like before a baby? I possibly don't remember! (smile) D and I said the other day that we do not remember anything before Nyla...Our life has definitely done a 180. This past couple of weeks have been busy, but enjoyable. We are slowly getting a routine down, but nothing is set in stone when you have a little one. Me and the little one have ventured out quite a bit and I am getting a hang of trying to get that the stroller open and closed by myself (smile).
Everything evolves around her eating and sleeping so whatever we need to do we try and get it done in a 3-4 hr window. Everyone says sleep when she sleeps...that is very hard especially when the laundry is piling up and little dust bunnies are floating around. We have slept some when she does but we still have to maintain our household duties. Since D has gone back to work he usually naps when he gets home (I know he needs the rest too!) Everything is going pretty good though and we feel blessed! I just love her to bits...she is my little miracle!
Like I said we were very busy these past couple of weeks...Nyla visited D and my job...Everyone enjoyed meeting her! D and I went to a wedding (we were both so anxious to get back to Nyla-smile), and we celebrated my mom's b-day on Sunday (church and lunch)... I wanted to share some pics from the week.
P.S. If taking pics of your little one is a crime I would definitely be in jail because I have taken sooooo many pics and videos it is not funny!

New Kid On The Block

The sign that is in our yard

My goal was to blog every Sunday...that way I would be able to do better about blogging and also be able to have weekly pics of my girl so I can keep up with weekly changes =) That has been blown out the window because with a baby you are on their schedule not your own, but if I can get one in I will be fine =)
My Nyla was 5 weeks old this past Sunday and she is already changing before our eyes! She is definitely the new kid on the block!
I cannot believe I had her 5 weeks ago...It seems like it is going way too fast, but I also remember that moment as if it was yesterday. Giving birth to her is something I will NEVER forget. Nyla and I made our first week together (D went back to work)...It went pretty well. Sometimes I felt like a dog chasing my tail, but it was all good. I wouldn't trade those moments for anything. Since I had her I have pretty much been at home, so my hair has been tied up in a scarf and I pretty much wore t-shirt and shorts. My eyebrows were growing all over the place and my feet looked bad. Seemed like after all the swelling went down, they appeared to be wrinkled. One day went D got home I went to get my eyebrows done and a pedicure. I felt guilty leaving my baby (1hr 30 min total!), but a lot of people have told me you still have to remember to take care of yourself...it is very true! ( I got my hair done the following day)
After I pampered myself a little I felt great! I felt like a new woman (smile)! I am sure feeling guilty will subside, but I don't know if the missing her feeling will because I promise every time I have left her my heart sinks and I just miss her dearly =)

Me and Nyla

D went back to work and boy did we miss him! (Him being off a month spoiled us rotten!) D had stopped drinking coffee, but he had to get a couple of cups because he said he was like a walking zombie (smile) at work. I did call him periodically and we used Facetime for iPhone so he could see his girl while he worked. (Thank God for that feature!) I just enjoy watching the two of them together...she is definitely a daddy's girl and I fear any boyfriend she might think of having (LOL!)

D and his girl

Who does Nyla look like? I think she is a perfect combo of us both...everyone that knows D said she looks like him...everyone that knows me believes she looks like me. I see us both. Everyone thinks she will have my quiet, laid back demeanor...My friend said she seems very chill. She is a good baby only cries when she is hungry or sleepy. We are starting to see her eyes a lot more (she still sleeps a lot) and she is starting to make sounds (so cute!) I am definitely enjoying playing dress up (she has so many cute clothes). I am trying to get her in all of these cute summer clothes before it is too late (I think it might already be), but I am definitely going to keep trying!

I am really enjoying our blessing! I love to see her looking up at me it just melts my heart (smile) Even during those 2 am feedings my eyes may be burning and slightly closing, but once our eyes meet I forget about everything (smile).
