Well Fall is here! Actually it has been here but the weather seems to not reflect that on most days. One day it was 90 degrees! I still have the tank tops, shorts, and sandals within arms reach =) I love this time of year (well actually winter is my fav), but I like this time as well because fall brings on that cool, crisp air, changing of leaves, and great memories of D and our courtship (it was during this time that I made my first of a few trips to Washington D.C. to visit D during our 2yr long distance relationship---we need to get back there---beautiful city!)
Well our baby girl is 9 weeks today! Gosh it is going by so fast! (No fair!) Everyone said it would and they were not telling a tale. She reached 8 weeks on last Sunday and that is the infamous number to get your first set of shots...I was definitely dreading this time! I told someone they would probably have to carry me out on a stretcher (LOL!). Actually it went better than that. (I didn't cry...eyes welled up though!) We arrived at the doctor and my little sweet sweet was so happy and cheerful (I love that little toothless grin!) Mommy and Daddy kept saying that she had no earthly idea what was up ahead...I felt so bad! Doctor talked with us about the vaccines, answered our questions (D and I had about 20 min worth--we are your true first time parents!), and looked Nyla over from head to toe. Then it was time! The nurse came in with the vials and needles...Nyla was looking at mommy and daddy smiling...shot went in that first leg (followed by 2 more)...My heart skipped a beat... D and I both grabbed our heads (don't ask why) and Nyla paused for a milli second and there was the loudest cry I had ever heard. It was so bad it was like she could not get it out fast enough. She has her hungry cry, her sleepy cry, her "I am bored" cry, but this cry was a new one (one I hope to NEVER have to hear often)...Nurse said she was done and I could take her...I grabbed my baby quickly and she looked at me with tears and her sweet whimper and all seemed well. Daddy D said "Nyla is a trooper!" When we got in the car she looked at me for about 5 min and she crashed (slept) until it was time for her next feeding. She did get a little fussy before meal time but other than that she did well (next shots at 4 months---I can breath a little)
Nyla and Daddy before the shotsI am trying to soak up every little moment with her because I go back to work this Thursday!!!!! (Yikes!) My heart is heavy thinking about it =( So please pray for me!! D is taking off of work Wednesday so we can all be at home and hangout as a family...I am looking forward to it!
